a collective performance about care and holding

Somewhere in the south of Chile, creatures grow that are half machine, half vegetable. They are alive, breathing and born from the earth. A group of participants is responsible for being their first contact before they are exported to Germany. The creature is ready to be born, and its first minutes out of the soil are the most important ones. This is when the connection is formed. Warmth and touch become its first knowledge of the world, like the first taste of life. The participants take on the role of holders and executioners forming part in its care and extraction.

more about the process

The robot emerged from careful observation and sustained work with a real carrot. Its form does not simply imitate the carrot, but translates it, allowing its presence to shift into another material and logic. Through this translation, the robot develops an organic, internally coherent movement, remaining closer to a living creature than to a machine.
