welcome to my page! I am Annick Durán Kandzior, a Chilean-German artist interested in performative formats at the intersection of artistic research and engineering. Currently, my work explores the intersection of performance and soft robotics. To this end, I build soft robots, which I call creatures. Sometimes they are half animal, half machine, sometimes half plant, half machine. The soft materials I work with include silicone, air, and other pliable substances, which I use to create speculative scenarios and breathing machines. I work with theaters, galleries, and festivals, and enjoy collaborating in unconventional spaces. I have a background in acting and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Spiel und Objekt / Experimental Play at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin.
